The goal of the BELOVED Lens is not to tell people what to think. 

The goal is to help believers search the Scriptures for themselves, examine context, and discover meaning from the text.

• Who is writing?

• Who is being spoken to?

• What situation is happening?

• Why was this written?

 

Search for:

• Historical setting

• Audience

• Purpose

What would the original audience have understood?

• The flow of thought

• Repeated themes

• Word usage elsewhere in Scripture

• Christ's example
