Intro
This is not something I’ve studied… it’s something I’ve lived—and learned. Over the past decade, I have walked through a sustained and often disorienting season—one marked not by a single moment, but by repeated patterns and layers of experience. It has included false accusation, misrepresentation, unjust judgment, assumption, labelling, scapegoating, gaslighting, projection, misinterpretation, spiritual misjudgment, infantilisation, exclusion, silence, relational breakdown, pressure, disorientation, isolation and betrayal. Some of these came suddenly. Others developed slowly over time. Many repeated in ways that were difficult to make sense of. And what made it most challenging was not just the events themselves—but the cumulative effect they had internally: - the questioning - the loss of clarity - the sense of being misunderstood or misplaced It created a kind of disorientation that was not easy to resolve. But in the middle of all of this, something else was happening. Not outwardly at first—but inwardly. Slowly, deeply, and often quietly, I began to learn what Paul speaks about in Philippians 4: “I have learned, in whatever state I am…” This was not immediate. It was not something I could think my way into. It was something formed over time—within the very circumstances I would have chosen to avoid. And what I have learned is this: There is a way of living in union with the Spirit that does not depend on external clarity, stability, or resolution. There is a way of abiding in God within your lot—rather than escaping it. This study is about that. Not about explaining everything that has happened. But about discovering: how to remain in Him, how to release what you cannot carry, and how to be sustained by His presence in the very place where life feels most uncertain.
