L - Learn the Kingdom Lens
Day 3
Purpose
Today we move beyond understanding and begin asking a different question:
What is Jesus helping me see?
Jesus did not merely teach information.
He revealed reality.
Again and again throughout the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus exposes old ways of seeing and invites His listeners into a Kingdom perspective.
Today we explore the lens Jesus is offering through this week's passage.
Your Reading
Read this week's passage again.
Read it slowly.
Read it prayerfully.
Ask God to help you notice what reality Jesus is revealing.
What Is a Kingdom Lens?
A lens shapes the way we see everything.
The Kingdom Lens is the way Jesus sees reality.
Often His perspective is very different from our own.
The world may say:
Be strong.
Be successful.
Be in control.
Protect yourself.
Prove your worth.
Jesus often reveals something quite different.
Today we ask:
What lens is Jesus inviting me to see through?
Reflection
As you read, consider:
What reality is Jesus revealing?
What way of seeing is being challenged?
What assumptions are being overturned?
What would surprise the original listeners?
What surprises me?
Take your time.
Read the passage more than once if needed.
Imagine
What would life look like if this passage were completely true?
How would it change the way I see:
God?
Myself?
Other people?
My circumstances?
My future?
Allow yourself to imagine living from this reality.
Journalling Opportunity
Write down what stands out.
You may wish to begin with:
Today Jesus is helping me see...
or
The Kingdom Lens I am discovering is...
or
If this is true, then...
There are no perfect answers.
Just notice what is emerging.
Sit With Jesus
Spend a few quiet moments with Jesus.
Ask:
Jesus, what are You teaching me to see?
Listen.
Notice.
Remain.
You do not need to force an answer.
Simply stay open.
Prayer
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Thank You for opening my eyes.
Help me see beyond my assumptions.
Teach me to recognise the reality Jesus is revealing.
Give me eyes to see as You see.
Amen.
Remember, you can use your BEloved Heart Check at any time if you'd like a quick return to the presence of the Trinity throughout the day.
